Integrity: 1. Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code
2. The state of being unimpaired; soundness

Academic integrity is at the heart of what it means to be a student at Skagit Valley College. As a member of this community, you are expected to abide by the Skagit Valley College Academic Honor Code . Therefore, you need to know what is expected of you and your academic work while you’re here.

This Academic Integrity Module (AIM) is part of the SVC Library's TILT Information Literacy Tutorial and is a companion to the Honor Code that provides vital information about academic integrity to the college community. AIM will address the following topics:

  1. defining academic integrity, plagiarism, and cheating;
  2. tips for avoiding plagiarism;
  3. teaching proper documentation practices; and
  4. academic integrity policy information
Students can take an online quiz and obtain a certificate of completion for the tutorial. You must register for TILT first in order to email the quiz to your instructor.
